about

Bridges are usually placed in two visits. During the first visit, your dentist will re-contour the abutment teeth and take impressions (moulds) which will serve as a model from which the bridge will be made in the dental laboratory. A temporary bridge will be placed as an interim measure to protect your teeth.

During the second visit a permanent bridge will be checked, adjusted and cemented into place. It is possible to extract a tooth and replace it during the same visit with a temporary bridge, which is left for three to four months to allow healing of the extraction socket, before the completion of a permanent bridge.
